Passengers waited for nearly two-and-a-half hours after its commander refused to take off without his favourite female co-pilot.

Image
Around 110 passengers had to wait in a grounded Air India aircraft for nearly two-and-a-half hours after its commander refused to take off without his favourite female co-pilot. The passengers were travelling on the Air India flight from Chennai to Male via Thiruvananthapuram. The ensuing delay resulted in the flight departing at 9.13 a.m. instead of the scheduled time of 7 a.m. According to reports, the Air India commander in question had resigned last week and was serving his notice period. On Tuesday, he asked for the woman officer to fly with him on the same flight. However, when the request was denied by the airlines, the official threatened to report sick. When he appeared for duty on Wednesday, he refused to fly until he was accompanied by the female co-pilot in question. In the end, the airlines was forced to arrange for the co-pilot. Air India has a notorious record for delayed flights and leaving passengers stranded within the aircraft. In 2016 alone, flights hav...

Saraki's corruption trial finally got under way before the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja on Tuesday after months of delays.

Image
Lagos (AFP) - Embattled Nigerian Senate president Bukola Saraki on Tuesday brushed off allegations of wrongdoing concerning his wife's offshore assets revealed in the Panama Papers, as he went on trial in Abuja on fraud charges. The latest graft claim to hit the senate president emerged from the "Panama Papers" investigation into a trove of 11.5 million tax documents leaked from Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca, which specialises in creating offshore shell companies. Saraki is alleged to have failed to declare at least four offshore assets listed under his wife Toyin's name that appear in the leaked documents, according to the investigation's media partner Nigerian newspaper Premium Times. Under Nigerian law, it is mandatory for the president, the vice-president, state governors and their deputies to declare their assets along with those of their wife and children under 18 when they take office and before stepping down. But Saraki said he did not do...

ISIS leader's ex-wife wants new life in Europe

"I married a normal person, a university lecturer," she said. "He was a family man." She wasn't his only bride; she had to share him with another wife. "He went to work and came home to his family," Dulaimi said. "He was great. He was the children's ideal father. The way he was with children ... he was a teacher -- you know how teachers are. He knew how to deal with children, better than how to deal with the mother." But the two did not talk much like others couples do.

Texas mom found dead; in SUV 3 kids alive

Brandon Woo said his wife and children had been missing since he came home from work to an empty house that day. He said he waited until Tuesday to report them missing because he said he thought he had to wait 24 hours to file such a report. Police said surveillance video shows Woo and her children entering a Walgreens on Monday morning. She’s holding the youngest child in her arms. Her husband said credit card records shows she picked up a prescription for Leah’s eczema. Credit card records also showed that she went to a Frisco McDonald's at State Highway 121 and Custer Road. Those two charges were the last time that she used their accounts, he said. Earlier in the week, Woo said his wife was "a model mother, a model wife.” He said, “It wouldn’t make sense if she was just to leave on her own and that’s what kind of gives the impression that something bad happened.” A Frisco Police deputy found Christine Woo and her children...

Renewed hope for Nigeria, Tanzania as Chad rescind decision to withdraw from Afcon qualifiers (Happy April 1st)

Image
In a twist of fate that could yet bring succour to Nigeria and Tanzania, the Chadian Football Federation has rescinded its decision to withdraw from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers if Caf would accept it back. The Chadians announced this news via their official website on Thursday evening, four days after they threw Group G into disarray with their decision to drop out of qualifying due to financial constraints. Looking at the financial implications of withdrawing which has attracted a $20,000 fine from Caf, the Chad federation said it thought it wise to remain in the competition rather than spend the money on a fine.       “We will return to qualifying and we regret any logistics problems that this might have caused Caf, our fellow group opponents and our fans,” a statement from the general secretary of the Chadian Football Federation, Amadou Keita Chaibou, read. “It is our hope that this return will help us avoid more sanct...

The Emirati interior minister, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, rushed to Ajman to help coordinate the response to the blaze, Ajman police said. There were no immediate reports of casualties. Ajman is home to many commuters who work in the Gulf commercial hub of Dubai, further to the south. Like Dubai, it is one of the seven emirates that make up the UAE federation. Police sealed off a major road near the tower snarling traffic. Hundreds of evacuated residents and onlookers crowded nearby to watch the building go up in flames. The Dubai-based Gulf News newspaper quoted Ajman Civil Defense director Brig. Saleh Saeed al-Matroushi as saying firefighters were at the scene working to put out the fire. A civil defense official reached by The Associated Press confirmed that firefighting efforts were ongoing late into the night but had no further details.

APC declares Ekiti Governor, Ayo Fayose, threat to national security

Image
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti state on Monday said Governor Ayodele Fayose’s conducts were threats to national security. It said the governor’s recent utterances and actions suggest acts of sabotage targeted at rendering national institutions ineffective to perform their statutory roles for effective government in a federal set-up. The State Publicity Secretary of the party, aiwo Olatunbosun, said this in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti. The statement noted that Mr. Fayose’s unguided serial statements had exposed him as a man fighting a lone battle against the Federal Government over alleged selfish motives. He said such motives were targeted at putting millions of Nigerians in jeopardy of instability in an already tottering economy. He cited the governor’s alleged death wish for President Muhammadu Buhari at a rally held at Fajuyi Square, Ado-Ekiti, over the weekend to welcome the detained member of the House of Assembly, Akanni Afolabi, to the state capital as a case...

So Here's a Photo of a Dancer Accidentally Lighting Her Crotch on Fire

Image
TMZ  spoke with Fire Gyal Flexi, a dancer who went viral earlier last week when she accidentally lit her vagina on fire during a routine. Flexi is OK, she told the site. She suffered first-degree burns all over her crotch and lost several layers of skin in the aftermath, but she plans to compete later this year in an international fire-dancing contest in Jamaica. In case you're wondering how this all happened, part of Flexi's routine involved putting a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol on her shorts so that she could light herself on fire just a little bit and then extinguish the flames immediately. She put on more rubbing alcohol than she realized. If you really need to see raw photos of what a fire dancer's vagina region looks like after she torched the hell out of it by accident, you can do so here . If you need me, I'll be here apologizing for every fire crotch joke I've ever made. Source:  TMZ

PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI SEND EASTER GREETING TO CHRISTIAN BROTHER'S AND SISTER'S

Image
Fellow Nigerians, I rejoice with you all, especially our Christian brothers and sisters, as we celebrate Easter. For Christians all over the world, this celebration is in commemoration of the supreme sacrifice which Jesus Christ made for the salvation of mankind. The Gospels also tell us that during his earthly ministry, Jesus Christ repeatedly urged his disciples and followers to "love one another as I have loved you". As we celebrate Easter this year, I sincerely believe that it will serve our dear nation very well if we all imbibe this essential message of Jesus Christ and truly learn to love our countrymen and women as we love ourselves. Indeed, we will surely make faster progress towards the achievement of the peaceful, united, strong, progressive and prosperous country we all desire if, as a nation, we eschew all divisive, parochial, ethnic and religious sentiments and rivalries, and begin to live more harmoniously with our compatriots, as Jesus Christ and ...

Lionel Messi Broke a Woman's Arm With a Missed Shot

Image
From Esquire He might be the world's greatest player, but Lionel Messi isn't often recognized for his power. His low center of gravity and balance while running at pace make him nearly impossible to knock off the ball, however, and he's won plenty of physical challenges against much bigger players. But he can also call on a deceptively formidable shot, especially on his left foot. With very little back lift, he can generate plenty of power. An unlucky fan discovered how much force the Argentine has at his disposal at a match yesterday between Villareal and Barcelona. Messi cut inside off the right wing toward the top of the box and unleashed an explosive left-foot effort that flew over the crossbar and kept rising. A female fan stuck up an arm to protect herself, and the ball struck with enough force to break it. Video after shows her in noticeable pain, and she seems to go into a kind of shock while trying to leave her seat to get medical attention. It's an ...

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) recently announced a partnership deal with  Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing  (IVM), which will see the company supply spare parts for jets conducting airstrikes against the insurgents. "The ingenious effort by IVM is instrumental to the continued operation of the Alpha Jets," NAF spokesperson Ayodele Famuyiwa said of the deal. "IVM helped to save the day when help was not forthcoming from abroad." (CNN)
